The current political stance of Pakistan

This video is of the political talk show, Bang-e-Dara that was broadcast on the 5th of September, 2011.  The following points were discussed and elaborated in the episode.

  • The turf in Karachi is based on political reasons for political benefits. Some of the parties want to occupy the city and create as much space as they can, while some are opting to engross its money and resources.
  • The disputes in Karachi is not because of external hands rather than internal.
  • Provinces in Pakistan can be created on administrative grounds.
  • The creation of Khyber Pakhtoon Khwah, Siraki and Bahawalpur province will all become election issues next year.
  • No one in the country has the intention of destabilizing it.
  • America’s basic interest is in Kashmir is that it wants it to become an independent state.
  • Pakistan’s army is a balancing factor for the Central Asian Region, Middle east and ultimately for India.
  • Fundamental issue is the economic growth of Pakistan which no one thoroughly thinks about.
  • The civilians’ problems should be addressed immediately.
  • The role of the modern ISI and the appreciation it has received so far.
  • The creation of Pakistan Muslim league and its factions.
  • Zulfiqar Mirza and his allegations on different members of political parties
  • The situation in Balochistan and how external forces are planning to destabilize it.
  • Pakistan People’s Party is not a political party that is working against the benefits of the country.
